About

I grew up in Northeast Ohio and was lucky to have a lot of exposure to the natural world as a child. I was encouraged to explore my interests and curiosities, often spending hours at the library reading anything I could find on health, spirituality, and the arts.

Practices like yoga and other mind-body tools have been a foundational part of my self-care for several years now. Still, my first official studio class didn’t happen until college, at a local power vinyasa studio. I stood out from most practitioners there—and still do. I wasn’t rich or white. I hated crop tops, and I was sad most of the time, but I felt a clear desire to teach.

So, in the Fall 2017, I threw a suitcase into my run-down Pontiac and drove from Cleveland to rural Massachusetts for yoga teacher training. I got certified and began teaching soon after. First in community centers and gyms, then in studios, and now in retreat spaces like Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health, where I lead classes for Retreat & Renewal guests.

My teaching style continues to evolve, but it remains spiritually grounded, trauma-informed, and anchored in simplicity, self-compassion, and embodied curiosity. You’re not likely to catch me blasting Beyoncé or cueing handstands in class–and while I might look flexible, I’m far more interested in eating pretzels than becoming one. 🥨

Most days, I swap my stretchy pants for scrubs and head to work as a nurse at my local hospital. When I’m not poking people with needles (sorry!) or guiding them into savasana, I’m usually doing what any self-respecting Taurus would: sleeping, snacking, or soaking. 🛁

Above all, I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to grow in a space that fosters safety, inclusion, and empowerment.

Bethany is an amazing teacher! I was nervous going in, having never taken yoga before, but she taught to everyone’s level perfectly. I never felt pressure to do anything I didn’t feel was right for my body.
